Episode Overview

Are not E+S+G all key ingredients—values and practices—essential for creating sustainable businesses, whether private or public, small or large?
This episode explores such a question and business equation, pairing not only guests who know each other, but they know each other quite well—as partners in marriage, parenthood, and business.
The Founder & CEO (May Lindstrom) and COO (Robert Metcalf) of the pioneering clean beauty brand, May Lindstrom Skin, join in for a Silo Solving conversation with the host (Danelle Marqui Brown), on the topic of “E+S+G = Formulating Sustainable Businesses.”
"Environmental, Social, and Governance" (ESG) was first mentioned in the April 2006 United Nation's "Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)" report, an initiative launched by the UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact. Yet, since, ESG’s global influence and reputation, to "benefit the environment and society as a whole,” has gotten lost in the mainstream narrative over the years. Furthermore, the subject is often discussed within the context of publicly traded companies, investment, and reporting, yet E+S+G values are held and practiced by private and small businesses as well.
